HIGHLIGHTS
The Great Yorkshire Show features the best of British farming and is England’s premier agricultural show. Held at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate it gives first-hand experience of agriculture and rural life through demonstrations and exhibitions as well as a ‘not to be missed’ insight into the very latest in the agricultural industry. There are exciting ring displays, including the Grand Parade of Livestock.

On the final day of this tour we return home a different route taking the A1(M) north to Thirsk where we spend some time at the modern Thirsk Farmers Auction Mart and Rural Business Centre where the weekly sale of fatstock cattle, sheep and pigs is taking place in their recently-built 20-acre facility on the outskirts of Thirsk, an attractive town made famous by the ‘vet’ James Herriot of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’. Those who prefer to visit the town of Thirsk will have opportunity to visit while others enjoy the sale.

Nestled in the heart of Bradford, the Midland Hotel Bradford is the ideal spot for you to rest after a day at the show, shopping, or exploring the city. Its location means that everything you want to do is quite literally on your doorstep. Complimentary WIFI is available. Bathrooms have complimentary toiletries and hair dryers.
