6 Day Resort Holiday Tour by coach

3***New Southlands Hotel Scarborough

Yorkshire has a coastline of one hundred miles from north to south and an area the size of Northern Ireland with a population representing ten percent of the entire United Kingdom greater than the whole of Ireland and is also England’s largest county known as the White Rose Kingdom. Once a kingdom in its own right, it has never lost that sense of being special. Yorkshire is sublimely beautiful with ruined abbeys and castles, magnificent houses and gardens framed by high moors, wooded hills and lush farming country. It has two National Parks, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors. Yorkshire’s East Coast is most definitely the coast of contrasts: long rolling sands, dramatic cliffscapes, thriving resort towns, busy fishing harbours and tiny villages.

NEW SOUTHLANDS HOTEL is a comfortable well situated 3***hotel. Formerly a Bay Hotel, the New Southlands Hotel is an intimate and elegant property perfectly situated on Scarborough’s South Cliff. The Esplanade, Italian Rose Gardens and South Bay are within a five-minute walk of the hotel. The town retains much of the character from its time as an elegant Victorian seaside resort, with handsome architecture and walkways, as well as increasingly more modern entertainment and attractions. With stylish and comfortable lounges and a classic restaurant and friendly and welcoming staff you will find the perfect place to relax at the New Southlands Hotel.

Scarborough, our base for the five nights on this tour, lays claim to the title of being Britain’s first seaside resort, welcoming visitors for over 360 years and it remains as popular as ever. If its location spotting your into then Yorkshire has it all ‘Brideshead Revisited’, at Castle Howard ‘All Creatures Great and Small’, ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and Heartbeat, just to mention a few. Any stay on Yorkshire’s east coast would not be complete without visiting Whitby of Captain Cook fame and ‘Aidensfield’ with an 18-mile ride to Pickering on the famous Heartbeat Steam Train. A special visit to Castle Howard, the county showpiece which ranks as one of England’s grandest stately homes. Naturally there will be plenty of time in popular Scarborough with its Esplanade and Spa.
