Take a walk across the 1st iron bridge in the world with the crowning glory being a venture into Wales to ‘float in the sky’ on the magnificent Pontcysyllte aqueduct. Tuesday Tudor Shrewsbury & Medieval Ludlow
Morning is spent sightseeing the river town of Shrewsbury – one of England’s most ancient of towns, with black and white timber buildings, a 17th century castle, an Abbey and higgledy-piggledy alleyways with boutique shops and cosy cafés. A leisurely afternoon drive through Shropshire, with a stop in one of England’s most ancient towns. Ludlow dates back 1000 years having over 500 listed buildings and a castle. Returning through the farmlands of Wenlock Edge.

Wednesday Severn Valley Railway, Ironbridge Gorge & Victoriana Blists Hill
In Kidderminster board the Severn Valley Steam Railway for the 16 mile journey through rolling Shropshire countryside. Disembark Bridgnorth, a town of two halves connected by the UK’s steepest funicular railway and dominated by its castle, which leans over far more than the Tower of Pisa! Onwards for the short drive to Ironbridge Gorge where the industrial revolution began finishing the day at Blists Hill Victorian Town, an open air museum where you can experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Victorian life in the 1800s.

Thursday Welsh Borders and Aqueduct cruise
The terrain becomes more mountainous as the Welsh roads leads the tour to Llangollen – a thriving little town and home to both a steam railway and Llangollen Canal. Time free to have a stroll and have lunch before boarding the narrowboat for the 2 hour scenic trip across Thomas Telfords Pontcysyllte Aqueduct – 1000 feet long and 126 feet high and recognised as a World Heritage Site. Returning through Shropshire countryside.

This tour starts on Monday 8th August with coach pickups from mid-Ulster to Dublin for the midday Stena Adventurer to Holyhead returning on Friday 12th on the midday Stena Adventurer sailing and due in Dublin at 18.00pm. On both the outward and return journeys there will be sufficient comfort and snack stops to ensure everyone’s comfort on this tour. JMB will return to your setdown points in Northern Ireland.
