EASTER IN CARLOW

EASTER IN CARLOW

APRIL 2022
EASTER IN CARLOW
5 Days from Monday 18th April
4****WOODFORD DOLMEN HOTEL
"inc visit to Delta Sensory Garden"

The town of Carlow was founded by the Normans in 1207 and it is one of the oldest and smallest counties in Ireland. Situated in the sunny southeast of Ireland, Co. Carlow's greatest claim to fame is its collection of dolmens. An English lord in the 1700s, wanted to create a version of the French Versailles in Cork, however the plans for the courthouse in Cork were mistakenly sent to Carlow and that’s why the Carlow Courthouse is modelled after the Parthenon in Athens.

Highlights of our tour will include a visit to Newbridge Silverware on the way south and then during our stay in the lovely Woodford Dolmen Hotel in Carlow, we will visit Delta Sensory Gardens and Altamont Gardens. We also plan to visit Kilkenny town and Huntington  Castle & Gardens.
