6 Day Amazing Coach Tour
from pickups in Northern Ireland

3***Loch Awe Hotel Dalmally

For our Oban Mull & Iona tour this year we are based in the lovely Loch Awe Hotel which is 22 miles from Oban situated close to Loch Awe with unrivalled vistas over the Loch. Built to honour the arrival of the Highland railway in 1871 it still boasts its own station. “The Gateway to the Isles”. Come along and see some of the most stunning scenery in the British Isles travelling along Lochside-roads with mountains towering above you. Feel the wind in your hair as you cruise to the beautiful Isle of Mull and ancient Iona. This year our tour is 6-day to allow second day onto Mull to visit colourful Tobermory.

Friday Oban & Seil Island
Morning at leisure to explore Oban. After lunch a half day tour to Seil Island - 9 miles from Oban. To get there we cross over the 18th century “Bridge over the Atlantic”, before travelling across the island to Easdale. Seil Island is particularly picturesque with whitewashed fisherman’s cottages and was the setting for the film ‘Ring of Brightwater’. It was also world famous for slate quarrying and in it hey-day exported over 6 million tonnes a year across the world and evidence of this can still be clearly seen.

Saturday Isle of Mull and Iona
Travel to Oban and board, the ferry with your coach for the 55-mn crossing to the lovely Isle of Mull. The island excursion takes you south passing imposing Duart Castle to Fionnphort. Here you board the short ferry journey, as foot passengers, to the sacred Isle of Iona. Wander round the island at leisure, with its white sandy beach and pathways. Iona is an island of pilgrimage and recognised as the birthplace of Christianity in the UK. Entry is included into the famous Abbey, the resting place of over 100 Scottish Kings. Arriving back in Oban around 1800hrs.

Sunday Morning Service afternoon tour
Today is free for you to explore the local area however our tour leader will arrange a morning service at 10.30am in the hotel which you are invited to attend but no one is coerced to attend. In the afternoon we will take a local tour to highlight some of the beauty spots including the famous Cruachan reservoir and underground power station.

Monday Mull and Tobermory
Travel to Oban and board, the ferry with your coach for the 55-mn crossing to the lovely Isle of Mull. On this occasion the island excursion takes you north from Craignure alongside the Sound of Mull where you can watch out for porpoises, sea eagles and minke whales often feed and play these waters. Its just 21 miles from Craignure to Tobermory so you will soon catch sight of the coloured houses and shops. Those of us who have cared for grandchildren will know Tobermory better at Ballymory on TV.

Loch Awe Hotel
The 3***Loch Awe Hotel overlooks Loch Awe with unrestricted views
showcasing the Best of Scotland. Comfortable, well-furnished ensuite bedrooms with teamaking facilities, TV and radio. Reception seating area with open fire (lit in the winter months). Lift service to most bedrooms. Lochs & Glens. The inside of the hotel is in good decor with constant improvements being made yet retaining many of its traditional Victorian features.
