4****Highland Hotel Fort William

FORT WILLIAM Lying in the shadow of Ben Nevis, is the ‘Outdoor Capital of the UK’ and the main town in Lochaber. As one of the major resorts of the Highlands, the town commands an important position and is easily accessible. Fort William’s setting is dramatic, on the shore of Loch Linnhe, and under the mighty hulk of Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis. Just a few minutes from the town is Glen Nevis, one of Scotland’s most picturesque Highland glens. The glen is formed from the flank of Ben Nevis and two other mountains and has the River Nevis flowing through it. A gondola takes visitors 2,000 ft up the mountain for amazing views and access to the ski slopes

This holiday is set against majestic Highland landscapes of lochs and mountains. A tour blending history and Highland culture with a backdrop of scenery which has made this part of Scotland really amazing. Sit back, relax and take in the Scottish Highlands from Fort William to Inverness. Included are two world-class attractions - cruise on the most famous loch in the world and ride on the splendid Jacobite Steam Train. Our journey north to Fort William takes us through Glencoe known as the Great Glen.

THE HIGHLAND HOTEL (www.lochsandglens.com/highlandhotel) is a 4****hotel in an elevated position overlooking Fort William and Loch Linnhe. It is a grand Victorian building with open fires and wooden panelling and has been sympathetically modernised to provide comfort and class. Offering extensive views across Loch Linnhe to the Sunart Hills, the hotel is a place to reflect on the beauty of the surrounding Scottish landscape and offers access to the tourist town of Fort William. Comfortable, well-furnished ensuite bedrooms including tea making facilities, TV and radio. Reception seating area with open fire lit during the winter months. Lift service to most bedrooms.
