3***Newby Bridge Hotel

Charming Lakeland towns, cascading waterfalls and sweeping mountain landscapes are only a part of our Lake District Easter tour. It is also an area which has inspired painters, writers and visitors from across the globe making the Lake District one of the best loved regions in the UK.

NEWBY BRIDGE HOTEL: (www.newbybridgehotel.co.uk) is a 3***45-bedroom hotel. Set in lovely landscaped grounds, overlooking Lake Windermere Newby Bridge Hotel is a relaxing and welcoming place to visit. The hotel and restaurant have recently been extended and refurbished with even more high-quality accommodation. The roaring log fires, leisure facilities and ‘moreish’ food will help ensure your stay is perfect. Situated a few miles from Lake Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere with fantastic landscaped grounds for all to enjoy

Lake Windermere and Southern Lakes
Jump aboard the Haverthwaite Steam Railway for a 20-minute journey through picturesque Leven Valley to Lake Windermere. Afterwards, take in the beautiful Lakeland scenery on the drive to famous Holker Hall and Gardens - regarded as one of the best stately homes in Britain. We spend most of the afternoon at Holker exploring the house and strolling the Lakeland gardens. Returning via Lake Coniston (of Bluebird fame) and Ambleside.

Ullswater and Northern Lakes
Over Kirkstone Pass - the highest road in the Lakes to Glenridding. Beautiful Lake Ullswater, the second largest lake in the Lake District, with time for refreshments at Pooley Bridge. The day continues through the dramatic beauty of the Lakeland fells with afternoon free in Keswick at the head of Derwentwater before returning by Grasmere passing William Wordsworth’s Dove Cottage.

Old Hall Farm, Windermere cruise and Ambleside
Visit to Old Hall Farm where 19th century methods are used to grow the crops and harvest the land. Horse power alongside steam and early vintage tractors and their implements are the way the farm is operated. The historic buildings housing our stock and the steam driven dairy is a unique sight to behold. Next, we’re up the road to enjoy a stroll in the Lakeland air at Bowness, Cumbria’s most popular destination with lots to see. We’ll step aboard the Steam boat for 30-minute sail on Lake Windermere to Ambleside to see the smallest house in Lake District and visit Hayes Garden World.
