KRAKOW, Poland

'and Zakopane in the High Tatra Mountains'

Tuesday 25th until Sunday 30th
5 Day Amazing Discovery Tour
5*****Radisson Blu Hotel - Krakow
Direct flight from Belfast International Airport

Poland situated in the heart of Europe, astride many of the old trading and commercial routes, has a history dating back over a thousand years. Its strategic position meant that it has been occupied and fought over many times and as such both Western and Eastern influences have been introduced. Centuries later Poland suffered terribly in the Second World War with Hitler's invasion and the vicious persecution of the country's many Jews.

KRAKOW, Poland's former capital, escaped much of the destruction of the Second World War, and the city remains today very much as it has done for hundred's of years. Its origins date back to the 10th century. A university was founded in 1384 and Krakow quickly established itself as a trading post at the crossroads of Europe. It is famed for its cultural and artistic origins and currently boasts more heritage sites than any other city in Poland. The Old Town and the nearby Wieliczka Mine joined UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1978 (among the World's 12 most precious heritage sites).

ZAKOPANE, Poland's premier mountain resort, is one of the country's most popular holiday destinations, both in the winter for skiing and in the summer walking and camping. Zakopane has long been a playground for Poles and travellers from Eastern Europe but is just now being discovered by the rest of the world for its splendid natural scenery and world-class ski slopes. The Szymoszkowa chairlift takes you to the top of Gubalowka Ridge where one can get a full view of the Tatra Mountains. We take a full day tour from Krakow to Zakopane enabling a rural sightseeing tour.
